Jay McGowan

As a Member and Senior Advisor, Jay McGowan focuses on integrating thoughtful analysis with clear, empathetic communication throughout the financial planning process. For Jay, the most meaningful moments in his role as a financial advisor occur when he witnesses the relief clients feel after he has successfully addressed or resolved their concerns. He finds that the relationships formed during this process are among the most rewarding aspects of his work.

Before joining The Welch Group as a Senior Advisor in 2021, Jay spent 13 years gaining experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, consulting, and wealth management. This diverse background strengthened both his technical knowledge and his ability to communicate with people across a wide range of circumstances and personalities.

Beginning his career in public accounting has given Jay an appreciation for the tax planning side of wealth management and helping clients minimize their tax burden, both in the current year and throughout their lifetime. While Jay enjoys working with a wide array of clients at different stages of life, he is particularly passionate about helping young professionals protect and maximize their wealth potential.

Outside of work, Jay likes to spend his time collecting sports cards, following college and professional sports, coaching Little League, exercising, attending live music events, and duck hunting. He is also actively involved in his church and values spending time with family and friends.
