James Noles

Associate Advisor

James Noles, originally from Mountain Brook, returned to his hometown in 2026 to join The Welch Group as an Associate Advisor. In financial advising, he discovered a career that not only aligns with his passion for finance but also allows him to find fulfillment in helping others. Even before entering the profession, he frequently found himself discussing personal financial management with friends and family, which reflects his enthusiasm for the field and his belief in the practical value financial planning can bring to people’s lives.

James’s journey into financial advising began at Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, along with minors in Business and Counseling. While there, he also founded and managed a small business. This experience gave him valuable insight into building strong relationships and providing attentive client service.

He further merged his interests in people and finance at The University of Alabama, where he earned a Master of Science in Consumer Sciences, concentrating on Family Financial Planning and Counseling. A summer internship as an analyst in investment banking in San Francisco helped him deepen his understanding of macroeconomics and fundamental valuation. Together, these experiences have equipped him to approach financial advising with a relationship-focused mindset and a solid analytical foundation.

Outside of work, James enjoys traveling, listening to music, and running.
